What to pack for Korea—and what people forget
Tick off each item in the checklist above, and use the notes below so you don’t miss the things travelers most often overlook for a trip to Korea.
1. Essential documents
- Passport: check the remaining validity.
- K-ETA: visa-waiver nationalities should check the electronic travel authorization (K-ETA). Exemptions and dates change, so confirm with official sources before you fly.
- Flight & accommodation confirmations: immigration may ask to see them.
2. Seasonal packing
- Spring & autumn: add a light jacket for the wide day–night swing.
- Summer: umbrella, sunscreen, breathable clothing
- Winter: heavy coat, gloves, hand warmers
Check conditions by date on the city weather forecast.
3. Electronics & connectivity
- Power adapter: Korea uses 220V, 50/60Hz with round two-pin (Type C/F) plugs.

4. Payment
- at least one card that works abroad
- about 50,000–100,000 won in cash for markets and street stalls
- a T-money transit card—buy and top up at convenience stores
